Kate Siefert
Weekday Anchor and Sports Reporter

Kate Siefert is a weekday anchor and producer at WWMT in the Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids Michigan market. She graduated from Ashland University in 2017 with a degree in Digital Media and Journalism and Sport Communication.
During her time as an Ashland University Eagle, Kate was also a member of the Varsity Volleyball Program. Her involvement in athletics is what has driven her to pursue a career in sports journalism.
As an anchor at WWMT, Kate produces the noon show she anchors and helps generate content for the 5:30 show she anchors in the evening. She also manages the station’s Instagram page, producing a daily segment, “Top 3 on 3” every weekday afternoon.
During high school football season in the fall, Kate is the station’s Game of the Week reporter. She is responsible for shooting and editing games while also conducing pre and post-game interviews.

Conduct multiple live shots ahead of Friday night football games across West Michigan. I was responsible for shooting the games, conducting post-game interviews and live shots during our ‘Friday Night Fever’ football special.

Lead WWMT’s Instagram platform with daily posts and live segments. Collect photos from our reporting team to post throughout the week.

WTOV covered local high school teams, college teams – The Ohio State University and West Virginia University, and professional teams in both the Pittsburgh and Cleveland markets. I was responsible for shooting games, conducting post-game interviews, cutting highlights, writing packages and conducting live shots solo from the field.
